The painting that started it all...

Do you know how For Love of Country (FLOC) started?  It began with a unique life size painting of 4 SWAT officers...

In 2008 Melinda Lowry Anter had the opportunity to create a life size mural of 4 SWAT officers in a stack formation for Swanson Tactical Training Center in Ogden, Utah.  It was done with airbrush and it took about 80 hours to complete.

Melinda shared "While working on the painting, I was overcome with appreciation for everyone who protects and serves our country.  I wanted to do something to share my gratitude and support."  With inspiration from an article written by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman on sheep, wolves and sheepdogs, she came up with the idea to start For Love of Country (FLOC) - protect the flock, confront the wolf - as a way to spread support and patriotism through art.

When asked about her work and support of the foundations, Melinda states "It's one thing I can do to let the 'sheepdogs' know how grateful I am for their service."
